When news goes wrong
Someone pointed me to this amusing story on Yahoo news today:
I'm sure you're thinking something about German tourists. Maybe you're also asking where's the picture? A quick bit of googling found the original story on the Reuters site: You'll notice the difference in wording there...
A bit more research finds the German original story, with picture

Keith Richards is Vishnu? From today's Metro:Wrinkled rocker Keith Richards has revealed he owns 3,000 guitars - and plans to display them in a museum or give them away. The Rolling Stones star, 64, said: "I've probably got two many guitars. I've got 3,000 guitars and I've only got two pairs of hands. I only play about ten of them."Keith playing ten guitars with his four hands? Where can we get tickets? |
Crunch
There was unwanted drama yesterday morning as I picked up my glasses only to have the arm drop off in my hands. Tash managed to do a temporary fix with Sellotape, which was good enough to get me off to work, but not exactly something that one can live with!Specsavers promised me my new pair would be ready for collection today, but it wasn't, so I'll have to live with wonky glasses until Monday... |
Home Inspection Nightmares
After we moved into our house we kept finding little niggling things that were wrong, that were never mentioned by the survey, or were hidden by copiously placed furniture. Perhaps we should be glad that nothing was as bad as the things found by the surveyors who've submitted photos to This Old House's Home Inspection Nightmares!Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4 and Part 5

photolog: Try sumfink noo 2day!
"Consumer Information - goods must be pd befr consump"Note to the team of marketing people who have no doubt spent millions re-branding Sainsbury's with it's new "Try Something New" slogan - how about spending some money on proof-readers to check that you're not providing utter gibberish in the form of "Consumer Information" on your fruit and veg isles! |
photolog: Cashpoint failure
I was faced with a bit of a dilemma this evening - do I risk taking cash out of a cashpoint displaying a Windows "abnormal program termination" dialog, or go hunt for another machine...Needless to say hunger got the better of me and I risked it in order to go collect our takeaway chinese! |
