Pleo

Has anybody got a spare $350? If they do, I'd love a Pleo robot baby dinosaur!

Clocky returns

You might remember Clocky from the post a couple of years ago about the prototype. Well now it's a real product available to buy!

Multi-Touch Interaction Research

While touch sensing is commonplace for single points of contact, multi-touch sensing enables a user to interact with a system with more than one finger at a time, as in chording and bi-manual operations. Such sensing devices are inherently also able to accommodate multiple users simultaneously, which is especially useful for larger interaction scenarios such as interactive walls and tabletops.

Petcell

Lost dog? As of next March, pet owners will be able to drop the photocopier and staple gun and pick up the phone instead. That's when PetCell, the first cell phone for dogs, is due to hit pet-store shelves. Hung off Fido's collar, the PetCell is a bone-shaped cell phone that will let dog owners talk to their best friend over a two-way speaker.
PetCell from PetsMobility

Considering how much hearing someone talking over Skype freaked Gwen out, I can imagine her going into a crazed frenzy of confusion if we were to phone her up and start talking out of her collar!

Clocky

Clocky is something I feel I could often do with in the morning. What appears to be a normal (albeit fuzzy) alarm clock will run away and hide from you the moment you press the snooze button, thus forcing you to get out of bed and go find it if you want to stop it beeping at you.

Freeview recievers

In the last few weeks I've had no less than four Freeview recievers, whilst trying to pick up digital TV (two Philips boxes that were both faulty, a Digi Fusion one that was just plain useless, and a Sony one that we're pretty pleased with.)

You can read the review of all three different devices here

11010

So as of yesterday, I'm now 26 years old (although I feel like the last few weeks has aged me a good few more years than that!)

I got a wonderful geek toy from Tash - a blue LED binary watch - the one in the picture is showing the time to be 12:11, along with a copy of My Neighbor Tototo on DVD (a film I've wanted a proper copy of for years,) and lots of money for buying important house stuff, and a well stocked tool kit from family :)

As it was so warm and sunny, we spent the afternoon on the beach, and had a wonderful time :)

Text messaging to blame for bad movies

Apparently, it is the fault of text messaging that the summer's films have been flops at the box office according to a story in The Independant.

In other words, the film industry knows the films were shite, but before texting, it took longer for people to tell their friends not to go see a movie!
