Weird Worlds
Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space is quite a strange little game. The premise is pretty simple - you're the captain of a starship, with a ten year mission to go out, find brave new worlds, and steal their stuff. What makes the game pretty unique is that it's designed to be played quickly. Ten years sounds a lot, but as you spend most of the time whizzing around in hyperspace, it boils down to about ten minutes of gameplay, so can be played to idly pass a few minutes, the way you'd play Solitaire.
The best way to find out how good this game is, is to give it a try - there's a demo available to download here.

Transparent aluminumTrekkies of the world rejoice - Scientists have managed to make Scotty's Whale tank material of choice.
Except they seem to want to use it for reinforced windows in millitary vehicles. Spoilsports - won't somebody think of Gracie's baby and the future of humanity?

Fit the Twenty-SixthThe final ever episode of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy will be broadcast tonight at 6.30pm on Radio 4 (and online later for those outside our shores.)
It'll be sad for something that's been with me all my life to finally come to an end, but can't help wondering if Douglas would've changed his mind and written more books had he still been with us.

More Hitchhiker's radio newsLots more information is now available about the third Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio series, including a 4 minute teaser trailer. It seems my speculations were right in that the new voice for the book will be explained away as a software upgrade.
The radio series will begin broadcasting at 18:30 on Tuesday the 21st of September, and continue for the next six Tuesdays (with a repeat on Thursday nights.)
