Codex Seraphinianus Volume 1, Part 5 : Machinery

The final chapter of the first book discusses various machines used on the planet. The first page shows an array of various feather duster machines, but from there the devices get much more weird.

Again, lots of the images show things that are almost recognisable - some kind of washing machine, a peculiar machine for cleaning (and putting away) cutlery, a strange printing press, and a device for catching butterflies. However, other devices, such as a set of trailers and tricycles, defy explanation.

One of my favourite machines in the pages, is what I've called the Rainbow Painter, which is shown as a cloud with wheels, dangling some elemental particles, which can be used to paint rainbows into the sky (in both an earthly arc, and more alien knots and loops.)
